Improved Communication and Social Skills
Some of the objectives of early intervention include enhancing the ability of a child with autism to communicate and make social interaction. For children with ASD, communication can be affected, they may have impaired ability to react to the signals of the other people or have almost no ability to communicate with others. Little kids still need to learn what kind of gestures it is acceptable for them to use and this can be achieved through other forms of interventions like the ABA, speech therapy, or occupational therapy. For example speech therapy may be useful in helping to develop language skills and ABA which is helpful int he management of problematic behaviors and encouraging appropriate communication via a reward based system. In this way, practicing these skills at the early age of development will ensure that the child is well equipped to cope with appropriate social setting, especially school and peer company.
